October 12, 2020 – Manhatten, NY – The ACLU has released a statement on Twitter in support of Indigenous People’s Day.

Does the ACLU realize their HQ is on Lenape land?
Reporters, including MSNBC’s Brian Williams, attempted to follow up with members of the ACLU for comment about their headquarters being located on Manhatten, land that was allegedly purchased by the Dutch from Lenape Native Americans (Lenni Lenape) for a few dollars. Further following-up on the follow-up questions: reporters attempted to ask members of the ACLU if they were even aware that the name Manhattan came from the Lenni Lenape?
Sources possibly familiar with the attorneys representing the ACLU’s attorneys had no comment if the ACLU was prepared to return their building to the Lenni Lenape.
Off the Record: ACLU
From his Manhatten office, David Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs was allegedly overheard saying “…I stand with the ACLU. Our job is to pay large sums of money to advertise and support, in words, the plight of Indigenous People not to actually do anything substantive.”
