At the Conde Nast quarterly meeting, held at the company’s seaside chateau in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Robert Sauerberg, President of the company, was overheard yelling at Vogue editor Anna Wintour:  “You’re done!  Ever since Grace Coddington left all I see is the Kardashian family!  We’ve all had enough!”

Less than 24 hours later MSNBC’s Brian Williams leaked that Don Cherry was to replace Wintour beginning on the first of next month.

Neither Sauerberg nor Wintour were willing to comment on the record about the leak.

Cherry responded on his Grapevine Podcast:  “It’s absolutely true.  What that magazine needs is down-to-earth, ready-to-wear fashion.   I’m just the guy to bring that to the Americans and British.”

Off the Record:  Vogue

“I usually don’t comment on private companies like Advance Publications (owners of Conde Nast) because there’s no financial benefit in it for us,” said Dave Solomon, CEO of Goldman Sachs.  “But, I can see why Bob brought in Don.  Don just brings a fashion sense to Vogue that Anna lacks.”
