Facebook to Purchase France

In a series of meetings held between Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, and Emmanuel Macron, President of France, Zuckerberg and Marcon came to the conclusion that “…what’s good for Facebook is good for France.”

In a prelude to their joint news conference, to be held on the sidelines of this year’s CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Zuckerberg and Marcon are expected to announce that Facebook will purchase France in an all-stock transaction plus the assumption of France’s debt by Facebook.  Further, it was revealed by a well-placed source who asked not to be named because of the delicacy of the situation: “Zuckerberg just wanted to purchase the content of the Louvre. But when Marcon suggested he’d throw in the rest of France to seal the deal, Zuckerberg said ‘ok.’”

Reaction to the news has been mixed, with Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs saying, “…this makes a lot of sense” and Jean-Christophe Cambadélis, First Secretary of the French Socialist Party (retired), saying “Merde. Les gens de Nice n’accepteront jamais ce rachat.”
