In secret meetings between Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, and Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, discussions have carried on late into the night with Trudeau asking Sturgeon: “What would it take for us to annex your country?”
Sturgeon’s response: “We voted against Brexit. Perhaps it’s time for us to join another union. What would it take for us to annex Canada?”
There’s no telling where this will lead. But a union of the two countries would finally unite Scotland’s Scotia with Canada’s Nova Scotia in an original meets nouveau scenario creating a new world superpower intent on the dominance of Haggis and Curling.
